Why should I have a website?

In a word - validation.   A web presence is an essential part of a first impression and customers today expect to be able to review an organization's online brochure.

What are the basic components of a website?

Basic website components include professionally developed web pages (HTML programs), a domain name (www.yourbusiness.com), and a web hosting facility (we use Lunarpages) for your website.  The finished website is then uploaded onto the internet (via the hosting facility) and promoted to the search engines.

Will I get e-mail accounts with my website?

As many as you want.   (For example: inquiry@your-domain-name.com, sales@your-domain-name.com, or John.Doe@your-domain-name.com.)   Unlimited e-mail accounts are included with the web hosting for your site.

Do you require a contract?

Not with Spare Change Websites.   Our $499 Basic Website Package is a one time charge.  However, that price does include a one year web hosting contract with Lunarpages, which is paid upfront (and will not automatically renew).   After one year, you will be contacted (via e-mail) by Lunarpages and given the option to renew your web hosting contract or you may switch to another web host at that time.

Background: We've elected to use Lunarpages hosting (for our website and our client's sites) because (after trying other providers), we've found Lunarpages to be very reliable and (technically) easy to do business with (due to their intuitive Administrator Control Panel and good customer support).

How long will it take for my website to be ready?

Generally one to two weeks after you've approved the sample page and provided the content (text/images).  If you have a specific completion date in mind we will always endeavor to meet it for you, but the most common delay in the website creation process is waiting for content to be sent to us by the client.

How should I provide text and images (photographs/logos) for my new website?

Can I move my website from LunarPages to another hosting company if I wish?

Yes, you may move your website to another hosting service at any time (although Lunarpages will not refund the year long hosting fee after 30 days).  Of course, we think you'll be very pleased with Lunarpages hosting - we are (and have been for over 5 years) - but it is always your option to move (or, after a year, not renew the 12 month hosting contract that was included in our Basic Website Package).
